1920s wedding

When my niece planned her wedding for outdoors, at sunset, in November in Illinois, I worried that she was setting herself up for frustration. Instead, she got a picture perfect event.

She and her fiance planned a 1920s themed event in a picturesque, historic chapel. An amazing shopper and decorator who hates to pay retail, she shopped flea markets, eBay, tag sales and mail order companies for her decorations. Most would either be reused, or resold. The effect was stunning.

She asked, but didn't require, guests to dress in period clothing. Everyone looked amazing.

Here's how the sunset turned out.

I mean, seriously, how did the bride order the perfect evening?

If you look in the background of the wide shots, you'll see something unusual for wedding photos. Next to the chapel, there was a graveyard; a very, very old graveyard. That was where the bride chose to have the couple's portraits taken.

The most fun, though, was when the bride said, "Everybody come hide with us! Find something to hide behind!"

It's adorable. It's unusual. It's my niece.
